Project Scholar through Save Africa Project
Funds raised from December 2010's Mom2Mom Sale have provided 5 scholarships. Elizabeth is very grateful to be one of the recipients.
Elizabeth is 15 years old. She is the sixth born in a family of 4 boys and 6 girls. Elizabeth is one of only two children in the family who have completed and received the Kenya certificate of Primary Education Examination (KCPE). However after completing the KCPE, Elizabeth was unable to continue her education due to a lack of funds.
Elizabeth's Mother has been the sole support for her family. She tries to earn money from working on people's farms or selling produce from a small piece of land behind her rental house. The burden of educating Elizabeth has been hard, such that at times, she and her family had to go without food so that she could save some money for Elizabeth and her other sister to attend school.
Despite the many challenges for Elizabeth and her family, she still holds on to her hopes and dreams... Elizabeth wants to be a nurse. She says that she has always had this dream ever since she was a small girl. Helping people and treating the sick has always been her passion. She also wants to be a teacher so that she can instill knowledge because she believes that wisdom is supreme and that knowledge empowers us all.
